If you haven't mailed your dues to our treasurer (Steve Robinette) yet, please do so as soon as possible. Just to note, our dues enable us to meet our goals for the year. Just a quick note from your ODCSCC President regarding officers. Jim Allen has volunteered to be added to the club's officer selection committee that was setup in December. I want to thank Jim for taking over the task of chairing this committee for our club (the ODCSCC). Also, I want to thank Gary & Sandra Clark for accepting the officer position of Events Directors. The end of December is arriving and with it is a time to reflect on what 2020 has brought and the anticipation of what the upcoming year will bring. 2020 was highly dictated by the virus, and hopefully 2021 will bring us some relief. None of us could have predicted the virus impact on 2020,the loss of friends and family, the canceled monthly club meetings, the canceled car meets at the following: Dobson, Uwharrie Mountain, and at the Doug Higgins farm. Also, canceled was our club trip to Waynesboro, canceled Southeastern meet, and the Joe Frakes driving tours.
On a personal note, Mary and I are grieving the lost of our son, Doug, who was working tirelessly at the FDA as the lead scientist to get respirators approved for Covid response. We will forever treasure his brilliance, his biking adventures and his love of family. On a positive note, we have had a tremendous turnout at Cars and Coffee and have met many car enthusiasts and car restorers. Danny Talbott will chair the committee for the selection of 2021 officers and will hopefully present at our January 5th meeting. The meeting location and time will be announced soon.
